Our Mission, Vision & Values

Some people come first to The Spring: Center for Spiritual and Cultural Unity to take a yoga class, to shop in our Emporium, or to attend a Sunday Gathering, or to hear a lecture on a special topic.  Others may first come for a massage,  a healing Reiki session, or an art exhibition.  Still others may come out of curiosity.  What is The Spring?  How can I benefit from being a part of it?

People come for many reasons—a major change in their lives . . . a need for inner peace—or the joyous exhilaration of an adventure outdoors . . .a desire for spiritual guidance.  Perhaps they come because they’ve reached a time in life when the “big” questions must be answered:  What is my purpose here on Earth?  How can I serve humanity?  Is there something that’s missing in my life?

They come to The Spring for many reasons.  But they all stay for similar reasons—to belong to a spiritually oriented community of like-minded friends.  They stay because they know that they are welcomed—that they make a difference.  They stay because at The Spring, they receive love and friendship and a sense of belonging.  They stay to expand their sense of community.  They stay to share their talents and dreams.  They stay because they benefit from the study classes, from yoga and meditation, from outdoor adventures, from interfaith Sunday Gatherings.

They stay because it feels good at The Spring.  It is a place of warmth, of welcoming, a place where people know your name and appreciate who you are.

The Spring believes that each person is a being of body, mind and spirit, and that it is our place to offer balance and opportunity to everyone who walks through the door, so that they can achieve what we call a “complete life”—a state of being in which the mind is seeded and opened, the body is energized and balanced, and the spirit is infused with the fullness of life.  To us, that means consciously cultivating a sense of belonging, prosperity, meaning, healing, energy, balance and selflessness.  Dr. Rudolf Steiner taught: “No one can give birth to a healthy higher self who does not live and think in a healthy manner in the physical world.  Living in harmony with nature and reason is the basis of all true spiritual development.”

The Spring welcomes everyone to enjoy what we offer in the areas of education, prayer, meditation and sacred services, body movement practices and therapies, musical, dramatic and artistic events, outdoor adventures and community service grounded in an inclusive and universal spirituality.  Welcome to The Spring!
